Aurafern privacy policy
Last updated 13 October 2026
Short version: Aurafern collects nothing. Your goals and jars stay on your iPhone and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud account. Nobody else can see them, including me.
What Aurafern uses
- Apple Screen Time. You choose the apps Aurafern watches. Apple gives the app only anonymous tokens for them, so it can't see which apps you picked, what you do in them, or how long you use them. iOS only tells it when the break length you set has been reached.
- What's stored on your iPhone: your goals and their plans, your jars and what's in them, your settings, when nudges were sent, which goal you picked after a nudge and whether you stayed away from your chosen apps afterwards, and when you answered a weekly check-in. What you type in a check-in or in the chat is never kept.
- iCloud (optional). If you're signed in to iCloud, a copy of your goals, jars, settings and progress is kept in your own private iCloud storage, so a new iPhone can pick up where you left off. Only your Apple Account can read it. Screen Time data is never part of it. You can also export a backup file yourself from Settings.
- On-device AI. The chat and the suggestion wording use Apple Intelligence, which runs on your iPhone. It sees your goals and plans, never your Screen Time data. Nothing is sent to a server.
- Notifications are optional and are created on your iPhone.
- Widgets show your first goal, how often you picked it this week and, with Pro, a picture of your jar. All of it is made on your iPhone from Aurafern's own records, never your Screen Time data.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. I never see your payment details.
- Beta report (TestFlight only). Beta builds have a Settings → Privacy → Send beta report button. It makes a file of counts and minute-rounded times (nudges sent, which kind of goal you picked, whether you stayed away) and opens the share sheet, so you choose whether and where to send it. It never includes goal names, the apps you chose, or anything you typed. App Store builds don't have this button.
What Aurafern doesn't do
The app has no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no ads, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. Nothing is shared or sold, because nothing ever reaches me.
This website and the waitlist
The app collects nothing. The waitlist on aurafern.app is the one place you can give me something, and only if you choose to:
- What's kept: your email, what you'd grow first if you typed it, whether you want the TestFlight beta, where you came from if the link said so, the country Cloudflare reports for your connection, and when you signed up. No cookies, no analytics.
- What it's for: one email when the beta opens, and a confirmation when you join. Nothing else, and it's never shared or sold. The basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Who handles it: Cloudflare hosts the site and stores the list in its Western Europe region, and runs Turnstile to keep bots out. Resend sends the emails. Google Workspace holds the aurafern.app inbox.
- Leaving: every email has a link that deletes you from the list straight away, or write to hello@aurafern.app. Once the app launches publicly, the list is deleted.
Deleting your data
In the app, Settings → Delete my data wipes everything Aurafern stored on your iPhone and its copy in your iCloud. Deleting the app removes what's on your iPhone; you can also remove the iCloud copy in the Settings app → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage.
Children
Aurafern is for people managing their own phone use and isn't directed at children.
Questions
Aurafern is made by one independent developer, so this goes straight to the person who built it: max@aurafern.app. If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes too, and nothing about it will ever mean collecting your data.
